Subject Charged for Allegedly Assaulting Employee

A 30-year-old Detroit man is accused of assaulting an employee at a local store after police say he attempted to remove several items from the store without paying for them.

The incident in question took place at approximately 3:25 PM March 6 at the Walmart located at 28804 Gratiot Ave. in Roseville. According to police, the suspect, later identified as Ronald Doby, was shopping inside the store and utilized the self-scan checkout. On the way out of the store, Doby was asked to produce his receipt by a store employee, and the employee found that Doby had not paid for some of the merchandise, according to police.

The merchandise was recovered by the employee, and Doby appeared to be continuing to exit the store. However, Doby then allegedly turned around and assaulted the employee by throwing him to the ground and into a shopping cart, which caused a cut on the employee’s head, police said…  C&G Newspapers
