Authorities say a shoplifting suspect attacked a Charleston police transport officer and escaped custody as she was being transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Officials with the Charleston Police Department said a search for 22-year-old Javondrea Shaidasha McLeod of Sumter ended late Wednesday night. If you have any information on her whereabouts you are asked to call consolidated dispatch at 843.743.7200 for the on-duty CPD central detective.
CPD officials describe her as a black female, 5’02,” 140 pounds, with a short crew style haircut. She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and black shoes. On Wednesday evening, law enforcement officers from several agencies searched the area around the Al Cannon Detention Center for McLeod who is expected to have additional warrants out for her arrest.
