A Martinsburg, West Virginia, woman charged with allegedly stabbing another woman during an alleged shoplifting incident waived her right to have a preliminary hearing in the case.
Zana Marie Holmes, 23, of Winchester Avenue, was arraigned in Berkeley County Magistrate Court on the felony charges of first-degree robbery, assault during the commission of a felony, malicious wounding and grand larceny.
According to police, an employee told officers she witnessed a young female walk out the front door with a yellow handbasket full of merchandise. She allegedly followed Holmes out of the store demanding she return the items.
The employee also told police the individual driving the vehicle Holmes arrived in turned off the vehicle and refused to give Holmes the keys, court documents said.
