On Sunday, it took a chase, and a little help from the community, for Vacaville, California, police to nab four suspects in a theft case.
Employees of the T-Mobile store in Nut Tree Plaza called police to report four teenagers who had come into the store with tools intending to steal phones and other electronics, according to a post on the Vacaville Police Department’s Facebook page. Within moments, the group had fled with arms full of merchandise. Employees gave a detailed description of the getaway vehicle, which officers were able to spot heading westbound on Interstate 80 near Pena Adobe Road.
Throughout the ordeal, the suspects’ car had crashed into another vehicle of another motorist, who did not sustain life-threatening injuries. One suspect was captured near the crash scene, and the other three fled on foot. The Police Department’s K-9, Scout, uncovered another suspect, who was hiding near a tall brush, while the other two had fled to Pena Adobe Park. A bicyclist had allowed an officer to use their bike to speed up the process, and officers were able to find the remaining two suspects.
