300 Students Attend University of Cincinnati Criminal Justice Career Expo

The University of Cincinnati’s (UC) 17th Annual Criminal Justice Career Expo on March 5 was a huge success, with over 60 public- and private-sector employers in attendance, including Amazon assets protection departments, TJ Maxx, and Target. The career expo was an excellent opportunity for criminal justice students to discuss internships, job opportunities, and make connections with a variety of employers. According to Susan Bourke, director of undergraduate studies for the School of Criminal Justice, over 300 students attended the event.

Asset protection has become a popular and rewarding career path within the private sector. Karl Langhorst, former senior corporate director of loss prevention for The Kroger Co., teaches Introduction to Loss Prevention and Corporate Security at the University of Cincinnati School of Criminal Justice. This course provides a foundation for students interested in the asset protection career path. Langhorst handed out copies of LP Magazine at the Career Expo to students, law enforcement, and university professors to further their knowledge about the asset protection profession.
