At approximately 11:56 PM on Friday, Secaucus police responded to the Gucci store located at, 50 Hartz Way, on a report of multiple activated burglar alarms, according to Police Chief Dennis Miller.
Gucci security was able to view a live video feed within the store and advised police that burglars were inside and actively stealing items. Approximately $26,000 worth of merchandise was found to be stolen from the store, officials said.
Responding Secaucus police officers recovered evidence and discarded stolen merchandise near the store. Security for Major League Baseball, also on Hartz Way, reported seeing the burglars running near their property.
During a search of the area, Detective Lieutenant Michael Torres located Nevels hiding in a nearby creek camouflaged by some brush. Nevels was then placed under arrest without resistance.
