Two people were arrested last weekend on suspicion of stealing from a JCPenney store after a police chase through neighborhoods next to the Galleria at Tyler in Riverside, California. Riverside police officers responded to the Galleria at Tyler on Sunday for a reported theft in progress.
“Two suspects entered the store and began taking a large amount of high-end merchandise,” the Riverside Police Department said. “It is believed these same two suspects have stolen several thousands of dollars worth of merchandise over the last few months.”
Police said a red Honda Accord was used in previous thefts, and a similar car was used in Sunday’s theft. Officers arrived and saw the Honda leaving the area. Authorities said the officers attempted to stop the suspects but were unsuccessful.
A police chase through a neighborhood adjacent to the Galleria at Tyler ended at a dead end on Ross Street. Riverside police noted that the suspects drove up onto the sidewalk and crashed into a parked vehicle in a driveway and then rammed into a police vehicle.
