Shoplifting Arrest Ends with Deputy Assaulted; Suspect Shot

Authorities say a man being arrested on a shoplifting charge in South Carolina attacked an officer and was struck by a bullet fired from the officer’s gun.

Greenville County Sheriff’s spokesman Lieutenant Ryan Flood said 40-year-old Sean Kaiser was struck by the bullet and taken to the hospital.Flood says Kaiser assaulted the deputy who was trying to arrest him Sunday afternoon and that officer was also taken to the hospital.

The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating and in a statement only said that the officer’s gun fired during the incident. Kaiser was released from the hospital and was booked in jail on a charge of attacking the officer. It wasn’t known… WSOCTV9 News
