LPM was on site with the EyeonLP team at Walmart’s 2016 AP National Meeting from August 30–September 1 at the Springdale Convention Center in Springdale, AK. The mission? To help capture the highlights of a week-long gathering of over 500 Walmart asset protection team members. Throughout the week, the team engaged in general sessions with guest speakers and interactive learning rotations, many of which simulated actual store environments. The week culminated with an awards banquet recognizing outstanding performance, years of service, and other specific special awards.
Vice President of Asset Protection Mike Lamb was the highlight of the conference during the “shearing of the Lamb,” when he allowed his hair to be cut in front of the entire group – as he committed that he would do once the company was at or below their shrink target goal.
The week-long meeting emphasized asset protection’s new branding of “Every associate. Every moment.” According to Lamb, the slogan “speaks to the fact that managing loss and shrink is important to us as a department (and as a company); therefore, everyone who works for us needs to understand the end game. Effort is important, but results matter. It’s a mantra we believe should be the fabric of how we work every day because protecting profit is as important as driving top-line sales.”
