Folio: magazine, the leading publication and media company for the magazine industry, recently released the names in its 2017 class of Top Women in Media. LP Magazine is proud to announce that team member Merek Bigelow, associate editor, has been selected for inclusion on the list. The annual program celebrates the creativity, innovation, and accomplishments of women in the magazine media industry. Each class of honorees has fearlessly moved their teams, brands, and companies forward, made strides in their respective markets, and created lasting impressions on their colleagues.
“Merek was brought into the magazine to help us develop a strong digital channel, which we launched in fourth quarter 2015,” said Jack Trlica, managing editor of LP Magazine. “Her marketing experience has helped us solidify our brand as the premier media company in the retail loss prevention industry. This recognition is well deserved.”
Each year, a select group of women is nominated by industry peers and hand-selected by the Folio: team to represent the best and brightest rising stars, entrepreneurs, director-level doers, corporate visionaries, and industry leaders. The 2017 class of honorees also includes luminaries like Condé Nast’s Lisa Valentino, Twitter’s Janice Morris, Mortgage Bankers Association’s Teressa Lurk, Grist’s Eve Andrews, and POPSUGAR’s Lisa Sugar.
“I am honored to be included in this list of incredible women professionals in the magazine publishing world,” said Bigelow. “I’m proud of the work we as a team have accomplished over the last few years to grow our brand and become a leader in the digital space for the loss prevention industry. It has been an exciting and busy time with LP Magazine.”
“Of all the things Folio: does, identifying and recognizing the people who drive success at their companies and for the industry as a whole is, without doubt, the most fun and fulfilling,” said Tony Silber, vice president of content at Folio:. “This program is a big part of that. Since its inception four years ago, we’ve identified hundreds of deserving women and saluted them for the extraordinary work they do. We’re all looking forward to June and a celebration of our 2017 Top Women in Media!”
