Loss Prevention Takes on Texas at the 2023 NRF PROTECT Conference

The loss prevention community dove deep into the heart of Texas this week as the 2023 NRF PROTECT Conference took over the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas for this year’s event. Attendance at the conference was strong as more than 2000 loss prevention practitioners were joined by a robust field of asset protection solution providers in the Exposition Hall for an exciting week of learning, networking, and experiencing the latest innovations to help keep retail safe, secure, and productive.

During the 3-day event attendees were able to enjoy 32 information-packed sessions hosted by leaders from across the industry. These industry-essential events bring together cross-functional teams from across the retail industry responsible for loss prevention, asset protection, digital fraud and cybersecurity to share valuable insights and strategies that are vital to a healthy retail culture.

As we continue to identify opportunities for industry growth, it’s important that we continue to collaborate in areas where cyber, physical and digital matters converge. Retailers are being threatened and attacked across all aspects of the enterprise. Protection professionals, regardless of individual discipline, must collaborate to establish an enterprise security risk management approach to their organizations. Through content, engagement, and collaborative efforts like NRF PROTECT, we can all work together to bring these ideologies to fruition.

Digital Partners

Sessions focused on a variety of industry-driving topics such as organized retail crime, cybersecurity topics, and workplace safety initiatives. These events have always offered a wealth of information and education, but as the conference experience continues to evolve it is enlightening to watch the evolution of the loss prevention professional as we continue to adapt to the ever-changing landscape. Stressing the importance of growth and flexibility has always been an industry-driving initiative, but seeing that role continue to expand through the collaboration and partnerships that are necessary to find success in a dynamic retail community is something that is among the most highlighted outcomes of the retail conference experience.

This year we have tried to give you more of a taste of the conference experience through our digital and social media platforms. We highly encourage you to visit Loss Prevention Magazine’s LinkedIn page as we looked to chronical the events of the last several days.
