Learn How to Talk the Talk

If anyone can talk about effective communication, leave it to a prosecutor. Kimberly Overton, chief resource prosecutor for the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys, will do just that. Overton is set to lead a general session, “Can You Hear Me Now? The Key to Effective Communication,” at the Retail Asset Protection Conference 2017, Hyatt Regency New Orleans, April 9-12, 2017.

In the session, Overton will share how to identify the communication and learning styles of internal business partners and external stakeholders so you can adjust your communication style to build strong and trusting relationships with them. Her goal is to empower you to tap into their motivations and experiences so you can develop positive working relationships, which is essential in today’s competitive business environment.

In addition to being a prosecutor, Overton is also a trainer, speaker, and facilitator. In her position as chief resource prosecutor, she provides technical assistance, education and training to prosecutors, law enforcement and other criminal justice and allied professionals.
