Interview and Interrogation Training: Who Do You Work For?

In this week’s International Association of Interviewers interview and interrogation training tip provided by Wicklander-Zulawski, Wayne Hoover, CFI asks who do you work for? While we all may work hard for our particular organization, the reality is we really work for ourselves and our families. Who would work if they did not have to? So when conducting a dishonesty interview or trying to obtain the truth an interviewer wants to make sure they are protecting themselves by staying within the legal, moral and ethical realm of investigations or interviewing.

When cases go to court, rather than attempting to refute the facts or the evidence, what is often attacked is the process. This is why it’s also important to take good notes and carefully document what happened during the interview process.
