Mike Lamb, LPC, vice president of asset protection, today announced his retirement from the Kroger Company. A fixture in loss prevention and asset protection leadership for more than 3½ decades, Lamb has always maintained a strong focus on the holistic business objectives of driving sales and profit while integrating a successful loss prevention program that complements those goals. His leadership approach, positive attitude, outstanding communication, strategic, and tactical skill sets will be missed across the industry.
In addition to holding top leadership positions with retailers including Federated Department Stores, The Home Depot, Walmart, and most recently with Kroger, Lamb has also been an active contributor as one of the founding board members of The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF), a board member with The Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC), a board member with the Asset Protection Leaders Council through the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), an advisory committee member with the National Association for Shoplifting Prevention, and as an editorial board member with Loss Prevention Magazine. While he will be sorely missed, his passion for promoting personal and professional growth and development will remain with us though the countless leaders across the industry that he has mentored and inspired.
Stinde Named New VPAP
Mark Stinde, MBA, LPC has been announced as the new vice president of asset protection with the Kroger Company. Stinde was most recently senior vice president of asset protection at JC Penney. He started his loss prevention career as a key store investigator with Mervyn’s in 1988 before moving to Lamont’s Apparel as a regional loss prevention manager in 1991, and then to Toys R Us as a regional loss prevention manager in 1995. From there, Stinde has held leadership positions with The Home Depot, Circuit City, and Protiviti in business development. In 2012 he moved to Dallas-based 7-Eleven as vice president of asset protection before moving to JCPenney as senior vice president of asset protection in 2019.
Stinde is very active across the loss prevention community, serving as an asset protection leadership council member with the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), a member of the board of directors with the Loss Prevention Foundation, and as an editorial board member with Loss Prevention Magazine. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from DePaul University, and recently earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management from Southern Methodist University – Cox School of Business. He also serves as an Associate Board – Mentor providing support and insight to MBA candidates for the SMU Cox School of Business.
