A Kroger employee in Peoria, Illinois, was arrested for stealing nearly $4,000 from the North Sterling Avenue location. The 19-year-old cashier had only been working at the grocery for two weeks before the incident was reported, according to a Peoria Police Report. The employee would allegedly ask for “loan” money for his drawer, but place it on the shelf just below the drawer rather than in the drawer itself, the report stated.
He is seen on video taking the money later on in the shift and placing it in his pocket, according to the report. He was confronted by asset protection, the report stated, and later arrested on Saturday at the store. He was transported to Peoria County Jail for theft over $500… Journal Star
