Detectives Identify Suspect in Violent Shoplifting Incident

Spokane Valley Major Crimes detectives have identified a suspect involved in a shoplifting incident that turned violent on Monday.

Two women were seen entering the Macy’s located at 14710 E. Indiana in Spokane Valley, both with large purses that appeared to be empty. A Macy’s Loss Prevention employee witnessed the women select multiple items before entering the dressing rooms. A check of the rooms after the women exited showed multiple empty hangers under the bench.

The women were stopped by a Loss Prevention employee on their way out, after they had passed all points of sale without paying. The suspect pictured ran out the door, while the other woman started a violent fight with the employee. That woman was able to break free and flee with the merchandise. The Loss Prevention employee received minor injuries.
