Cop Busted for Shoplifting; Suspended Without Pay

An off-duty NYPD cop was busted in Orange County for shoplifting at a Walmart, police said Tuesday. Officer Johana Rios — who is assigned to the 50th Precinct — allegedly tried to steal various items from the Walmart in Newburgh, NY, around 7 PM Friday, local police confirmed.

It was unclear what she tried to steal, but police sources said the items added up to around $125. Rios was charged with petit larceny and released with a future court date, police said. She was suspended without pay, the NYPD said, referring all other questions to Newburgh police…  New York Post
