In this episode of LPM’s What’s Cooking podcast series, LPM’s Kevin McMenimen and Jacque Brittain discuss organized retail crime (ORC) with Ben Dugan, president of the Coalition of Law Enforcement and Retail (CLEAR). Dugan talks about how ORC has risen to the number one priority for most retailers, generating a national conversation between retail, law enforcement, and state and federal legislatures on how to coordinate a unified response to combating organized crime.
Dugan also discusses CLEAR’s upcoming national conference November 16 – 18, 2021, in Orlando that will feature retail and law enforcement experts who are on the front line in the fight against ORC. The conference will feature a retail fusion center and will be held in conjunction with the Florida Law Enforcement Property Recovery Unit [FLEPRU], one of the earliest organizations set up to fight ORC.
