VIDEO: Candy Thief Fires Shot Inside Store

A man accused of hiding candy in his pants and attempting to shoot his way out of a glass door has been identified and arrested.

According to authorities, on Monday, November 30, [Mobile, Alabama] police officers (MPD) were dispatched to Sai QuickMart located at 2306 Airport Boulevard for a report of a robbery and shots fired.

Upon arrival, the store clerk told officers that an unknown male, later identified by police as 17-year-old Joequarous Timmons, entered the convenience store and attempted to hide candy in his pants. According to MPD, the store clerk saw the theft and activated the magnetic door lock securing the suspect inside the store.

They say when Timmons realized the door was locked, he brought out a handgun and fired one bullet through the glass door. MPD states when the glass door did not shatter, the teen then turned the gun on the employees demanding they allow him to leave. He then fled the building through the attached liquor store.
