Two Women Allegedly Part of Nationwide Theft, Fraud Ring Charged

Two women allegedly a part of a nationwide theft & fraud ring were charged Monday in Brown County. Anjelica Marsala, 26, of Chicago, faces 39 charges, including 19 of forgery, five of fraud against a financial institution, and four of receiving stolen property. Marsala’s bond was previously set at $20,000. She will reappear in court July 9.

Ashley Blevins, 24, of Knoxville, Tenn., faces a dozen counts, including four counts of misappropriating identification information, and four counts of forgery. She is being held on a $20,000 cash bond, and returns to court July 23 for a balance of initial appearance. Blevins’ initial appearance in court will be July 23. Her previous bond was set at $20,000.

According to police, their activity is consistent with a group known as the Felony Lane Gang. Police seized 29 wigs, allegedly used as a disguise, as well as multiple electronic devices. A number of out of state rental vehicles were used and all identified displayed local license plates were confirmed to be stolen. The total loss attributed to them is about $50,000.
