In New York, Nassau County Police nabbed two men in connection with more than $260,000 in thefts from Bloomingdale’s in East Garden City.
According to detectives, the thefts were carried out on numerous occasions beginning Sunday, September 22, after Teron Butcher, 29, of Queens, a loss prevention agent at Bloomingdale’s, manipulated cameras to allow two other men to remove merchandise undetected.
On September 22, after altering the cameras, Butcher told fellow loss prevention agent, Kenneth John, 30, also of Queens, that the cameras were off, John and a second man (not yet apprehended) removed assorted merchandise, Nassau County Police said. A thorough investigation revealed John and the unidentified man were responsible for multiple larcenies on multiple dates over the course of a year, police said.
