Suspect Threatens Store Manager with Gun during Theft of Tide Pods

The Dearborn Heights Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify a woman wanted for retail fraud from Family Dollar, 23236 Van Born, at about 1:30 p.m. June 29.

The woman, described as black, wearing a gray Jurassic Park shirt, black stretch pants, with shoulder length black hair, a headband and sunglasses, walked into the store at 1:24 p.m. and headed straight to the back. (Photo on the website.) Once she was in the back, she was seen on security camera putting two Tide pod packs into her purse.

The items were valued at $80.56. She then proceeded out of store, setting off the security alarm. A manager asked her what she had in her purse and she replied: “I’ve got a gun in my purse.
