Store Employee Charged with Faking Armed Robbery to Cover up Theft

A 28-year-old dollar store employee from Bear, Delaware, was charged with falsely reporting a made-up armed robbery to Delaware State Police in mid-May to cover for his own stealing, authorities announced Friday. According to authorities, Irvin I. Parker staged a robbery at the Dollar Tree at 1230 Beaver Brook Plaza on Thursday, May 16, 2019, around 10:15 p.m., in which he was the alleged victim.

Police said Parker actually worked with a co-conspirator and fabricated the story of being the victim of an armed robbery so he could cover up an internal theft for which he was responsible. Parker was charged with falsely reporting an incident, theft greater than $1,500, and second-degree conspiracy. He was released pending a future court appearance… WDEL News
