A man was arrested and charged with theft after he impersonated a Walmart employee in order to shoplift hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise, according to the South Euclid Police Department.
On Friday around 12:15 PM, a man dressed in a Walmart vest and khaki pants entered the store and began selecting items from the shelves, police said.
The man, who is not an actual Walmart employee, walked out of the store with $380 worth of unpaid merchandise, according to police.
Loss Prevention called the South Euclid Police Department and officers responded to the location to search for the man, police said.
Once on scene, an officer on patrol spotted a man who matched the description of the shoplifter. The man entered a vehicle and headed to the drive-thru of the Popeyes Chicken on Warrensville Center Road, according to police.
Officers detained the man and confirmed with Loss Prevention that he was the same man who impersonated a Walmart employee in order to shoplift. The 36-year-old Mansfield man was charged with theft, police said… ABC News5
