It’s time to pack your business cards and head to Washington, DC: the annual National Retail Federation (NRF) PROTECT Loss Prevention Conference will return from June 26—28 at the Gaylord National Harbor in the nation’s capital. The 2.5-day event will feature a robust schedule of educational sessions and networking opportunities for loss prevention, asset protection, security and law enforcement professionals. More than 2,500 attendees are expected to participate in the 2017 event, representing more than 350 retail and restaurant brands.
Educational Content
NRF PROTECT’s expert keynote speakers are slated to add big ideas and fresh perspectives to the conference agenda. The 2017 speaker lineup includes: Cathy Lanier, senior vice president of security, NFL; Peyton Manning, Super-Bowl-winning quarterback and five-time NFL MVP; Kimberly Peretti, CISSP, partner at Alston & Bird, LLP; and Christopher Voss, former FBI lead international kidnapping negotiator and author of Never Split the Difference.
Targeted breakout sessions will be held throughout the duration of the conference as well, covering hot topics that range from crisis management to leadership to shrink and fraud. Attendees will also be able to take advantage of special educational opportunities through dedicated exhibitor sessions, mentor roundtables, and more.
Engaging at the EXPO
The EXPO will be open both Tuesday, June 27, and Wednesday, June 28, in order to maximize attedee access to more than 200 exhibitors offering solutions from 50+ product and service categories. During the EXPO, exhibitors will showcase product demonstrations and share technological successes and case studies with attendees. A new (free) service called NRF Engage will be available to help retailers connect with specific exhibitors in private, pre-scheduled meetings.
Exclusive Programming and Awards
This year’s conference will have something to offer professionals belonging to particular communities as well. For instance, an expanded Food Retailer Asset Protection Pavilion, along with a Food Retailer breakfast, will be held specifically for LP and safety professionals in the restaurant and food retail industry. In addition, a Women in LP luncheon and an Emerging Leaders workshop will focus on the challenges and achievements faced by leaders in those arenas.
The NRF PROTECT awards, including the Ring of Excellence Award and the Case of the Year Award, will again honor pioneers in the LP/AP community who serve as an outstanding example to others in the industry.
