The number of ORCAs has grown steadily in recent years, with a primary emphasis on developing relationships between law enforcement, retail investigators, and prosecutors focusing together on the identification, investigation, and prosecution of those involved in organized retail crime. Join Nathan Bandaries with the Colorado Organized Retail Crime Association and Sgt. Dave Beyer of the Douglas County Colorado Sheriff’s Department for a presentation on the importance of organized retail crime associations, how they operate, what they’re all about, and the critical role of building public-private partnerships in the battle against organized retail crime.

Sergeant Beyer has also worked as a supervisor in the Person’s Crimes Unit, served as a SWAT Operator, K-9 Tracking Dog Handler, Field Training Officer, and Firearms Instructor. He also has previous retail loss prevention experience. He currently leads a team of local and federal law enforcement officers in cases to include counterfeiting, money laundering, organized retail crime, embezzlement, and other white-collar crimes on the local, national, and international levels.
In response to the scope and severity of organized retail crime concerns across the country, there has been an increased effort on the part of retailers and law enforcement agencies to share information regarding organized retail crime at the local, state, and regional levels. Organized retail crime associations have helped provide that vehicle, opening doors to improve legislation, enhance investigations, and build cooperative relationships in the battle against organized retail crime.
In appreciation and support of all of their local and regional efforts, LP Magazine has prepared an exciting series of webinars, podcasts and virtual conferences to promote and further the mission of these vital organizations.
