Mother, Daughter Caught Shoplifting

Joliet police say they arrested a 41-year-old Minooka woman and her 63-year-old mother, also from Minooka, in connection with a shoplifting crime Monday evening at the Walmart store on West Jefferson Street.

Penny Peters, 41, was arrested, booked, and released on an I-Bond on charges of retail theft. However, Peters also got arrested, booked, and transported to the Will County Jail for an unrelated Grundy County warrant. Her mother, Penny Brandner, 63, was arrested, booked, and released on an I-Bond on charges of retail theft.

Around 7:15 PM, Joliet police officers responded to the Walmart for a retail theft crime. “Officers determined that Peters and her mother, Brandner, were stopped by Walmart loss prevention after both were observed placing merchandise into their cart and passing the last point of sale without attempting to pay,” Joliet police reports show. “Officers determined Peters to have an active Grundy County warrant. Peters was transported to the Will County Jail after she was unable to post bond for the warrant…”  Joliet Patch
