A new partnership between the University of Cincinnati (UC) and the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) will benefit both UC students and the loss prevention and asset protection industry by offering the LPQualified (LPQ) course in an instructor-led class.

J.C. Barnes, PhD, professor and interim director of UC’s School of Criminal Justice, stated, “We are proud to partner with the Loss Prevention Foundation. Our faculty have worked closely with members of the LPF for several years now, so we are excited the relationship developed in this formal way. I am also anxious to see all the innovative and interesting things our students will get to do and experience as a result of this strategic partnership. UC has a top-ranked School of Criminal Justice, and crime science is one of our areas of specialization. Loss prevention is a key component of crime science, so partnerships like this ensure UC continues to be a leader in the field.”

“We could not be more excited about this partnership with the University of Cincinnati and are thrilled to already have a significant number of students enrolled in the LPQ class for this semester,” commented Terry Sullivan, LPC, president of the Loss Prevention Foundation. “This partnership is going to give us the opportunity for LPF board of director members and solution provider leaders to interact with the UC students enrolled in the LPQ course, which will provide a unique opportunity for the students to have a deeper understanding of the asset protection profession. It is also going to provide the students with the opportunity to secure a LPQ certification along with their degree upon graduation. This really will be advantageous for all involved.”
