Police in Connecticut have arrested a loss prevention officer who is accused of sexually assaulting a girl who was detained at a store in Norwalk last month. Officers investigated a complaint involving Kohl’s loss prevention officer Edwin Espichan, 35, of New York, on June 21.

The parents of two girls told police that the girls were detained by Espichan in the Kohl’s security office on Connecticut Avenue. According to the parents, while the girls were detained, Espichan asked for sexual favors in lieu of the police or their parents being called.

Investigators said they then learned that one of the girls was sexually assaulted by Espichan while she was detained. Both girls were eventually released after being detained for over an hour, authorities added. Espichan then contacted one of the girls via social media later in the day, officers said.
