Interview and Interrogation Training: Backing out of an Interview

This week’s International Association of Interviewers interview and interrogation training tip provided by Wicklander-Zulawski, has Angela Nino, CFI discussing common ways that interviewers can back out of an interview.

There are many reasons why we may want to back out of our interviews to include personal safety, time limits, medical concerns, continuous denials, and of course if the subject is innocent. In every interview situation, we should always treat employees with respect and dignity for any number of reasons, and when the employee is returning to the sales floor this is particularly important. We can accomplish this by using the selective interview to make the subject feel like they are part of the investigation. Angela discusses how to approach this type of interview and provides some tips on how to better manage these situations.
