Hot 25 Retailers List Released by NRF

Hot 25 retailers list

The National Retail Federation recently announced their Hot 25 Retailers List featuring the top retailers based on growth in 2020 sales versus 2019. The annual ranking highlights the nation’s most impactful and fastest-growing retail companies. Rankings, compiled by Kantar, are determined by year-over-year percentage increases in domestic sales.

Not surprisingly, the top ten is dominated by e-commerce retailers as the pandemic strengthened the demand for buying online. Wine.com tops the list reporting 99.4 percent US sales growth, with $329 million in 2020 sales nationwide, up from $165 million in 2019. Following closely behind, Overstock.com saw 74.7 percent sales growth, followed by online fashion retailer Boohoo Group in third place with 60 percent growth. On-line behemoth Amazon was seventh with $187 billion in 2020 sales, up from $140 billion in 2019, a 33.7 percent sales growth.

However, traditional brick-and-mortar retailers, including Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware, Lowe’s, Dollar General, Home Depot, Target, and Publix, made the top 25 list as they also benefited by remote work and stay-at-home mandates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
