Foursome Arrested in Million-Dollar Burglary Ring

Four men believed to be part of a million-dollar burglary ring are now in custody after a burglary at Best Buy, according to Greenfield Police in Illinois. The suspects, ages 18, 19, 33, and 41, are thought to be part of a large criminal organization involved in over 25 burglaries, with losses over $1,000,000 in at least three different states. Investigators say the suspects targeted large retail chain and electronic stores.

Police say the men took high-priced items like computers. They’ve hit stores like Ulta Beauty, Kohl’s, Macy’s, and Art’s Camera in the area. According to Greenfield Police, an alarm went off at the Best Buy store on S. 76th Street around 4 a.m. on September 8. Two Greenfield squads arrived at the store and reported seeing the suspect vehicle leaving the back of the store. Police say the suspects’ van was stolen from the north side of Milwaukee. The van did not stop for police, reaching speeds of 70 miles per hour on Interstate 43.

When the vehicle refused to stop, police chased the vehicle until a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver was used to stop the chase. Four men from Illinois and Indiana were taken into custody, with some still masked and wearing gloves.
