Crook Sentenced in Suburban Retail Robberies

Seven years after his arrest, a Chicago man was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison for the armed robbery of stores in Chicago’s suburbs, including Frankfort and Palos Heights, according to the US attorney’s office in Chicago.

Reginald Taylor, 53, was arrested November 7, 2012, following the attempted holdup of a RadioShack store in Oak Lawn and has been in federal custody since, according to a release from the attorney’s office. He pleaded guilty earlier this year to robbery and firearm charges, according to the release.

The robberies netted him more than $54,000 in cash and hundreds of cellphones, according to the release. In a plea agreement, Taylor admitted to the September 2012 robbery of a T-Mobile store in Elgin, the November 1, 2012, robbery of a RadioShack in Frankfort, a November 7, 2012, robbery of a RadioShack in Palos Heights and the attempted robbery later that same day of a RadioShack in Oak Lawn.
