New details have been revealed in several cases of credit card theft involving one man over the course of eight months. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 first reported about 34-year-old Mark Melodia in December after he was accused of defrauding the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Recently released criminal complaints show Melodia allegedly stole credit card information and used it at several other hotels, racking up a total of $28,787.71 in hotel stays, services billed to rooms he rented and other fees to the hotels.
This all happened between April and December of last year. At the Residence Inn, he’s accused of $5,367.58 in credit card theft. He’s accused of stealing services valued at $7,648.40 at the Sheraton Hotel. The AC Hotel by Marriott tallied Melodia’s alleged theft at $10,896.68. The charges at the Omni William Penn Hotel were close to $5,000. Melodia is facing a list of charges, including theft of services, theft by deception and fraud. [Source: Action News4]
