A rail car containing counterfeit dolls valued at more than $70,000 was inspected and and the dolls seized February 6 by US Customs and Border Protection officers.
The rail container destined to arrive in Ranier had been targeted by CBP officers, who inspected it and discovered dolls in violation of intellectual property rights regulations. CBP seized 3,552 dolls with an estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $70,969, if the goods had been genuine.
“CBP is focused on identifying and intercepting counterfeit merchandise and products. The enforcement of trade laws at U.S. ports of entry remains a high priority for us,” Anthony Jackson, International Falls port director, said in a statement… International Falls Journal
