Chris Harris Named Senior Director of Asset Protection at Brookshire Grocery Company

Industry leader brings a proven track record of success to his new role.

Chris Harris has joined Brookshire Grocery Company as the senior director of asset protection. In this role, Chris will lead the asset protection department, bringing a wealth of experience as an accomplished retail executive.

Based in Tyler, Texas, Brookshire Grocery Company is a regional food chain that has been providing families with quality foods since 1928. The grocer currently operates more than 180 store locations in three states under the banners of Brookshire’s Food Stores, Super 1 Foods Stores, Spring Market, and FRESH By Brookshire’s.

With a proven track record of success, Chris has developed and implemented strategic plans that reduce shrink, control loss, prevent accidents, and mitigate risk, all while enhancing organizational profitability. He most recently served as the director of asset protection for The Kroger Company, where he led the enterprise asset protection and safety program. Prior to that, he was the director of asset protection and compliance for Weis Markets, where he established an enterprise risk management program and oversaw all regulatory functions. His extensive leadership background also includes key asset protection roles at Sears Holdings and Kohl’s Department Stores.

Harris is a graduate of Penn State University and has earned professional certifications from Cornell’s Food Executive Program and The Loss Prevention Foundation’s LPCertified (LPC). A dedicated leader in the asset protection industry, he actively serves on leadership councils for NRF, RILA, and APEX, and currently holds the position of vice chairman for FMI.
