Suspect Flees Deputies in Reverse Through Neighborhood

A woman wanted on a shoplifting charge is now facing additional charges after she put her car in reverse and backed through a neighborhood to try to avoid arrest, police say.

Spartanburg deputies went to a home of Pebblebrook Court on Tuesday to speak with Patrice Smith about a shoplifting incident at the Kohl’s department store. They said no one came to the door of the home even though they repeatedly identified themselves as deputies.

After they saw someone look out a window, the deputies drove a short distance away and parked on Worden Drive. They said they ran a check on Smith and found out her license was suspended… WTFF News4
