Suspect Charged in 8 Robberies after Hitting Same Store 2nd Time

A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged Tuesday with eight robberies dating back to August in Allentown after he hit a Dollar Tree for a second time, city police report.

Leonel Benitez, of the 1200 block of Turner Street in Allentown, was taken into custody after patrol officers responded at 8:55 AM to the store at 1202 Liberty St. and an investigation ensued, police said. Benitez also robbed that Dollar Tree on January 29, police said.

Police did not say what sort of weapon was used or if it was recovered. He had also doubled up two more times with robbery locations over the months, police said. Lehigh Valley Live
