Police Officer Shot in Struggle with Shoplifting Suspect in Good Condition

An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer is recovering in good condition after he was shot Sunday on the city’s far east side.

Officer Eric Rosenbaum was injured shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday while trying to stop a shoplifting suspect at the Lowe’s Home Improvement store near East 25th Street and North Post Road, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Rosenbaum, 29, was wounded “during a physical struggle with the suspect,” police said. Other officers administered first aid and took him to Eskenazi Hospital. Rosenbaum was in good condition late Sunday, police said… IndyStar
