The International Supply Chain Protection Organization (ISCPO) recently announced two new additions to its board of directors: Wes Bank, LPC, director of loss prevention of DHL eCommerce, and John Cannon, special agent in charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Wes Bank, LPC, is currently the director of loss prevention for DHL eCommerce, overseeing risk management, government regulatory, audit, investigations, and physical security.
“Wes has been an active ISCPO member for several years and chaired the committee that developed the ISCPO Carrier Security Requirements, the foundation of the ISCPO Carrier Security Audit and Certification program,” said Rod Fulenwider, ISCPO chairman. “Wes was instrumental in contributing to a successful launch of the program last year, with four carriers now carrying the ISCPO Carrier Certified seal. Carriers receive designation after undergoing a comprehensive due diligence process and analysis of various security standards necessary to ensure the integrity of goods flowing through the carriers and their clients’ extended supply chain.”
A loss prevention practitioner since 1990, Bank previously held loss prevention management roles with Velocity Express, Office Depot and Jewel-Osco. He served on the Loss Prevention Foundation’s certification committee during the early development of the Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) and Certified (LPC) programs and had been a participating member of Merchant Risk Council, RILA and InfraGard.
“I’m excited and honored to serve as secretary on the ISCPO’s board of directors and hope to continue advocating for better universal controls, accountability, and transparency in the marketplace, especially improving carrier compliance at an industry-level,” said Bank.
Also joining the ISCPO Board is John Cannon of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Cannon has over 40 years of law enforcement experience and has been special agent in charge (SAC) of the GBI Major Theft Unit since 2008.
Chairman Fulenwider said, “SAC Cannon is a well-known expert in cargo theft investigations. We’re pleased to have public sector represented on our board as the ISCPO believes a significant component of industry-wide compliance depends on the support and involvement of the public sector. It’s key for our members to have a deep understanding of how crime affects their business as well as the knowledge to work effectively with law enforcement and public sector entities, whether it be on a local, state, national, or global level.”
SAC Cannon served during the Democratic National Convention, the Olympic Games in Atlanta, the G-8 Summit at Sea Island. He was a member of the GBI Special Response Team as well as the State of Georgia Special Weapons and Tactics Team. SAC Cannon has twice received the GBI Directors Award for investigative excellence during his career, along with the GBI Meritorious Service Award, and the Medal of Valor from the International Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association.
SAC Cannon said, “Coming from the public sector, I’m pleased to bring my unique perspective to the ISCPO board. Every LP/security professional has encountered loss and criminal activity during their career. To do their job well, it’s important to work collaboratively with law enforcement to identify loss trends and deal with suspicious activity so that risk can be mitigated.”
ISCPO Chairman Fulenwider added, “On behalf of the ISCPO, I’d like to thank two exiting board members for all their support and hard work over the past few years. Bill Gavin and David Jones are stepping down effective immediately but will remain active ISCPO members. We were privileged to have these industry veterans serve on our board, and we wish them all the best in the future.”
