Mom Used Baby Car Seat to Hide Stolen Items

Police said an Oklahoma woman’s attempt to conceal stolen items backfired Tuesday night. Asset protection officers at Target in Tulsa Hills told police a woman was seen hiding items in and around a baby’s car seat in her cart. There was no baby in the car seat, and she was covering it with a blanket.

Store security stopped the woman, identified as Mary Edwards, and detained her until police arrived. Officers checked Edwards’ purse and found multiple ID cards, credit cards and checks belonging to other people. Police said the items were reported stolen by their owners.
