1:00 PM Eastern – Tracy Walder | The Unexpected Spy

A former Staff Operations Officer at the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center and a Special Agent at the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office specializing in Chinese counterintelligence operations, Tracy Walder’s story is both fascinating and eye-opening. She will share details of her experience from the attacks of September 11th working in the CIA Vault through the invasion of Iraq, while also illuminating her experiences as a woman in a male-dominated field both abroad and at home. For example, how does a female debrief and earn the trust of al-Qaeda’s top men―Jihadists who swore they’d never speak to a woman, particularly an American woman.

Apart from her experience with the CIA and FBI, Tracy Walder is currently an adjunct professor of criminal justice at Texas Christian University and on the board of directors for Girl Security, a non-profit, non-partisan group that brings national security curriculum to girls in high school throughout the US. Previously, she has taught high school history and government courses at Hockaday School in Dallas. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California and holds a Master of Education degree from Chapman University

1:50 PM EASTERN – Answers from the Experts on the COVID-19 Vaccines

COVID-19 has had a dramatic impact on our personal and work lives over the past year. Now that there are vaccines available, there are many questions and concerns that we are all faced with. In this presentation we will hear from experts with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) who will provide the most current vaccine information available as well as address some of the more common questions and concerns regarding the pandemic response.

Adrienne Eastlake, MS, REHS/RS, MT (ASCP)

US Public Health Services Commissioned Corps

Adrienne Eastlake is a lieutenant commander with the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, where she currently works as an industrial hygienist in the Emerging Technologies Branch at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Cincinnati, Ohio. In her role, Eastlake provides guidance to the health and safety community through research, document development, publications, exhibits, presentations, and delivery of professional development courses. She also serves as co-coordinator for the NIOSH Wholesale and Retail Trade program and National Occupational Research Agenda Wholesale and Retail Trade sector council.

Deborah Hornback, MS

National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health

Deborah Hornback is a health communications specialist in the Division of Science Integration at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she develops communication materials based on NIOSH research for employers and employees. In addition, Ms. Hornback serves as the co-coordinator for the NIOSH Wholesale and Retail Trade program.

2:20 PM Eastern – ORCAS in Action Update

Join LPM’s Kevin McMenimen, LPC, and Jac Brittain, LPC, as they offer a brief overview of the ORCAs in Action initiative, working with all the outstanding organized retail crime associations across the country. This will include a recap of the successful initiatives that were part of the inaugural 2020 program, what is taking place as we tackle ORC challenges in the current year, and how you can support these efforts in the fight against organized retail crime moving forward.

2:30 PM Eastern – ORC and Human Trafficking

Hear Kevin Metcalf, founder of the National Child Protection Task Force, discuss the relationship between human trafficking, child exploitation, and organized retail crime. The task force was founded to provide detectives, analysts, and officers access to investigative expertise and resources that are unavailable or under-funded in most law enforcement organizations. The members of the task force volunteer their time to any agency—small or large, international or local—on important, time-sensitive cases focused on human trafficking, child exploitation, and missing persons cases.

Kevin Metcalf is a former federal agent turned prosecutor and founder of the National Child Protection Task Force. He has assisted with the recovery of numerous missing and exploited children and the identification and apprehension of sexual predators in multiple states. His law enforcement experience ranges from local to federal over more than 20 years. His interest in the criminal use of mobile devices led to the development of a system that uses cellphone-related data in criminal cases focuses on the integration of legally derived information with open source information (OSINT).
