Employee Charged with Embezzlement; Co-Worker Sought

A former Home Depot employee has been charged and police have obtained an arrest warrant for a co-worker after they were accused of defrauding the store out of nearly $7,000.

Westerly police arrested Tayla Northup, 24, of 15 Robin Way, last week on charges of felony embezzlement or fraudulent conversion over $100 and conspiracy to commit a felony. She was arraigned Thursday in Fourth Division District Court and did not enter a plea. She has been released on a promise to appear for a felony screening in Washington Superior Court on February 7.
