Employee Arrested for Stealing $25K out of Cash Registers

A Gainesville, Florida, man was arrested around 11:30 PM on Thursday after police say he stole $25,000 from Walmart cash registers. Brandon Ball, 21, commonly known as Trey, was an employee at the Walmart located on 2900 SW 42nd St., according to the arrest report from Gainesville Police. Ball said he took the money in order to pay off a debt he owed a gang and his medical bills, the report said.

After his arrest, Ball told police he took the money while on the job but can’t recall exactly when he started stealing the money. Police said he stole at least $13,000 over the last two months, according to the report.
