Caught on Camera; Failed Jewelry Theft

A fleet-footed felon tried to rob an Omaha jewelry store but ended up with nothing after a store employee chased him away. The surveillance video from a jewelry store near 84th and Frederick showed the man walking around the business the afternoon of Monday, July 27th.

After looking at several items, the man slid open the door on a display case and took out a tray of rings. The employee saw him do that and immediately tried to get him to stop. The two ran out into the parking lot, where the man dropped the tray and kept running. He was seen getting into a black sedan.

He was wearing a long-sleeved blue, button-down shirt with a black shirt underneath it. He also had on a gray mask and cap with an ‘LA’ logo on the front. A witness said the man was heavyset, with blonde hair and a beard and blue eyes. He also had tattoos on the backs of his hands.
