Shoplifting Suspect Shot and Killed

A security officer in Hollywood, California, shot and killed a suspected shoplifter at a Walgreens drug store Sunday night, police announced. The deadly incident happened at 8:10 p.m. at the the Walgreens at Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Officer D. Orris.

The security officer confronted a suspected shoplifter at the store, and it escalated into a fight, according to the LAPD. The guard allegedly shot the man in the upper body during the scuffle. The shooting is under investigation by the LAPD, and the security guard has not been arrested in connection with the shooting.   [Source: Hollywood Patch]
