Fraudster Charged with 51 Counts of Credit Card Theft

A Knox, Indiana, man is facing 51 charges after reportedly using co-workers’ credit cards to make more than $3,000 in purchases in Lake County. Ronald Ray Guy, 32, was charged Wednesday in Lake Superior Court with 45 felony counts of fraud and six misdemeanor counts of theft.

Guy is accused of taking credit cards from co-workers at Midwest Pipe Coating in Schererville and making “numerous fraudulent purchases” at businesses across Lake and Porter counties, a probable cause affidavit states. “Mr. Guy stated that he mostly bought gift cards with these stolen credit cards to support his gambling habit,” the affidavit states.
