The Zellman Group Adds a Certified Expert in ORC Investigations

The Zellman Group has announced the addition of Brendan “Ben” Dugan as the director of ORC field investigations. Dugan has over 30 years of retail loss prevention experience, including department store, big box, catalog, specialty and most recently retail pharmacy experience. Prior to joining The Zellman Group, Ben spent ten years as the ORC manager at Walgreens, where he managed investigations for the entire United States and Puerto Rico.

Dugan is a US Department of Justice-certified expert in organized retail crime and product diversion. Dugan has successfully investigated and aided in the prosecution of several multi-million-dollar ORC cases and the first-ever ORC civil RICO case. Dugan holds additional certifications in law enforcement instruction and e-commerce investigative methodologies from the US Department of Justice. In 2015, he was named Investigator of the Year by the National Coalition of Law Enforcement and Retail.

Dugan will be directing Open Source ORC Investigations at The Zellman Group, assisting clients by gathering online information from e-commerce communities, classifieds, social networks, the Dark Web and criminal data to identify the core of ORC rings. The Zellman Group’s approach to ORC investigations combines forensic Open Source research with investigative techniques and financial recovery solutions. The Zellman Group has the resources to conduct or assist clients with ORC investigations in areas such as ORC subject vetting and asset search, social media covert operations, e-commerce ORC investigations, Dark Web investigations, victim impact statements and ORC recovery and asset search.
