Best Security Industries (BSI) Unveils New Series of Intelligent Solutions to Combat ORC and Other Crimes against Retailers

Delray Beach, FL – June 08, 2016 – Best Security Industries (BSI), a premiere provider of certified, pre-owned and private label electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems and engineered IP video solutions, today announced that it has expanded its BSI Connect series with the introduction of BSI Notify Connect and BSI Tracking Connect. These new solutions are specifically designed to help retailers address the growing problem of organized retail crimes (ORC) and other forms of shoplifting.

“ORC continues to be a major concern for retailers of all types and sizes,” said Matt Sack, CEO of BSI. “These new solutions were designed to help retailers better understand merchandise movement within their locations. The solutions will send notifications of unusual movement or exception-based events to any connected device such as a smart phone, tablet or computer through a specialized app. These two solutions join our recently announced BSI Cloud Connect hosted video service and BSI EAS Manager, as part of our intelligent solutions portfolio, BSI Connect series.”

BSI Notify is a smart shelf solution that comes in two forms: a mat that can be placed on existing shelves or a self-contained, custom-built shelf. Both solutions communicate product movement over a wireless network. BSI Notify registers any exceptions that have been programmed into it and sends an alert if the exceptions are triggered. It is battery operated and can be programmed with a variety of sensitivity thresholds to detect the removal of any number of items. Once the BSI Notify wireless sender is attached to a convenient location, zones can be created within the shelves to distinguish between multiple product types. Notification or alerts can be relayed to any peripheral device connected to the network.

BSI Tracking is a GPS-based anti-theft hard tag that allows retailers to track the movement of high-end merchandise or proprietary samples both within the store, but more importantly outside the location should the product be removed without authorization. BSI Tracking provides the coordinates of the tag which are communicated over a satellite network and can be tracked through a graphical user interface application that shows the exact location and movement of the tag. BSI Tracking tags also incorporate Geo-Fence technology and are motion activated providing extended battery life with wireless charging for individual devices and low battery notifications. A GPS tracking application allows retailers access to store specific analytics and device activity.
